Challenge
The Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation’s largest public power provider, generates electricity for nine million people in parts of seven states, provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development a huge mandate.When new senior leadership was appointed at TVA, a comprehensive review of the communication function was one of the top priorities.
Solution
Our work with TVA included a communications audit to assess communication practices and messaging, benchmarking of other industry communication functions and best practices, recommended structural changes to the communications function and developing a roadmap for speaking with one voice. Our recommendations supported business objectives and gave senior leadership specific data to enable decision making.
